  • Days of Our Lives is Best. It's got the classic opening just like from the beginning. You always know when the show starts in the first few notes. Photos of the characters make them dated.

  • DOOL!!! ♥ ♥ ♥

  • ahhh saved the best one for last

  • You should have Another World in here! :)

  • @kennyt1230 I totally agree .yeah its the only one left that doesnt show pics.

  • @Onewytlyter

I agree, it's the "Brooke Logan Hour" now, lol!! Not only that, but the show just started doing too much incest for my taste and I seriously stop watching B&B by 2002. I would say the first 10 years of B&B, starting with it's debut in 1987 until 1997, was really good and well written. By 1998, the show just went too over the top with the Shelia Carter stuff. I mean, she's always coming back from the dead (or hiding out), plotting revenge/to kill, but never succeeding, lol!!

  • @MrJuly1990ish You are SO completely right!!! What the heck is going on on soaps today?! I hardly know anyone on Y&R and, forgive me if you are a fan, but I loathe the Brooke Logan Bangs Again Show aka B&B. Maybe it should stand for "Brooke and the Boys." Anywho, your assessment is spot on. I remember the bone-chillling days of Sheila and Lauren. Oh, and the feud between Katherine and Jill before she became domesticated. Yikes! I guess all good things must come to an end. Oh well.

  • It's sad that soon there will be only four left. In 2007 there were nine in daytime! Women at work, video games, shorter attention spans, it's definately a very sorry time in Soapland. The mid-1970s through 1990s will always be my "golden age" for Soaps- many moved to an hour, most episodes from this era still survive, and the storylines seemed to be the best.

  • @princessdi328 This only referrs to daytime soap operas. Primetime soaps are in a different category (and seem to hold up better as well).

  • passions was always my favourite, so you get 150 extra points for including it!!! :) wish they hadn't cancelled ATWT, that was one of the best too...

  • You forgot the Beverly Hills 90210 opening.

Trust me, back in the day Y&R was not boring at all! Lol!! I mean maybe now, (I stop watching when the late great Bil Bell passed away, the show lost it's touch). Look at some of the old vintage clips of Y&R here on YouTube. Check out the ones from the 80's and 90's (particularly the Shelia & Lauren feud/catfights) you will see why Y&R was "so high" in the ratings and stayed at number one during that period.
