I know it is already dead; but it is best to kill it before it transmits parasites/diseases. even if you are attached to it it is still full of garabge and crap so its better than getting some weird disease from 'em.

Well done for getting this fella to 3 years! That's the max lifespan for rats really, and in the wild it is doubtful he would have made half of that.

@Gameskid so could most of the kids that don't believe in hand hygene, or the filthy bloke who hasn't washed his hands after taking a shit. Humans are far more germy than rats!

@Lyhraify Yeah, i know. Sorry for that but my comment was TWO years ago. Just ignore it :)

@Twinkol08 whoever told you that is retarded. Rats live anywhere from 2-3 years old that has nothing to do with color. Sometimes a rat will get sick and die sooner, but that has nothing to do with color. It has everything to do with breeding and proper rat ownership. most rats die early simply because their owners don't take them to the vet.

I think I can say that is true from my experience with rats.

Sorry to say this, but he is not well, but at least is happy at the moment. He now has an eye infection, which could kill him, but most likely wont since he is still eating and VERY VERY hyper! He's blind in that eye now, since it dead :(
He's three years old and still is kinda crazy little guy though, so I think he'll do fine. I have to put stuff in his eye twice a day to make the infection go away, but if it doesn't, he may/will die for the operation to take out the eye could kill him :(
