QQFM is a series of quick questions for Mormons (hence the name) and other interested parties to ponder. The answers to the questions just might be a little more revealing than most Mormons would want to admit.

  • @back2thefutre- Merry CHRISTmas to you too.

  • these are guidlines for one to become a better person,if we where perfect and without sin we would need no church

  • @keaukila- You would need no Church? Wow, that is a VERY telling statement. Are you really saying that since you are not perfect and you are with sin, then you do need a Church? Whatever happened to needing Jesus?

  • We strive to follow Jesus. It's as simple as that. If we have faith we will repent. If perfect obedience was required 100% of the time then we would all be damned and there would be no need of a savior. Just take some of the scriptures such as "Be ye therefore perfect" or "go and sin no more". Someone can use thise passages and claim that all Christians have an "impossible gospel". Yes, 19 yr old Missionaries can be unprepared for some questions. You have proven that at least.

  • Before one can be forgiven, one has to keep all of God's commandments all of the time?? What are you being forgiven of then?

Illogical. Like cleaning up to take a bath.

If one keeps ALL God's commandments ALL of the time, then they *don't need* God's forgiveness.

  • You crack me up! Short and to the point!! Right on! Next question. So if I keep all of the commandments all of the time we have not sinned. Why did Jesus offer himself as propitiation for our sins? It makes Jesus sound like a self-destructive drama king.

  • We have to strive faithfully keep the commandments to the best of our ability. God knows it's not possible for us to keep all the commandments all the time.

  • We have to be doing our best to follow the commandments of God and to turn away from the sin for which we have asked Him to forgive us. That is what exactly what the Bible says. Is our salvation contingent on perfection? Of course not, only Jesus is perfect. Are we to emulate Him to the best of our ability? Of course. Christianity IS NOT a religion of repent on Sunday, do what you want all week, then repent on Sunday again. That makes a mockery of His atonement and the cross.

  • God doesnt give us commandments we cant keep. we make mistakes sure. but we can ask for forgiveness.
