This is the last time i will talk about this (ok, never say never!) as i've mentioned it already a few times now.

Oil and water don't mix. And yet it such a simple concept yet no one even thinks about it!

Maybe, just maybe the reason your foundation isn't lasting isn't because the new (or old) foundation isn't good but because we are not thinking "like attracts like".

If you're using a moisturiser that is oil based and a water based foundation over it - chances are you're cheating yourself out of the longevity of your makeup.

Learn to read labels, look for the main ingredients in what you're using and then make an informed decision.

Remember for maxim impact:

Oil based moisturiser/primer (with spf or not) with Oil based foundations.
Water based moisturiser/primer (with spf or not) with water based foundation.
Silicone based moisturiser/primer (with spf or not) with silicone based foundation.

Feel free to set with powder and or a setting lotion.

NOTE: Don't load up on lots and lots of skin care. Unless you have VERY dry skin only use what you really need, which in most cases is either SPF and/or Primer with SPF then foundation. Don't use what you don't need and your make up will last longer - promise.

Thank you for your time.

Wayne

  • Your hair is nice in this video

  • @mimirr14 Well, he was basing his point off of chemistry which says that oil and water doesn't mix. That would lead me to believe that water based foundations would not stay well on oily the skin.

  • @Ketchme17 He never mentioned to avoid it if you have oily skin. Besides, I'm sure everyone produces a certain level of oil, so it wouldn't make sense for him to be referring to skin types.

  • @Ketchme17 No, you're missing the point -__-. He's talking about oily moisturizers and foundations, NOT SKIN. If people have oily skin, they should AVOID oily moisturizers, therefore oily foundations as well. You should stick to water base.

  • :O!!!!!!!!!!

  • @XLadyOX But he's saying not to combine oils with waters. If I used water based products, they wouldn't stay on my skin since my skin is oily (according to what he is saying).

  • @Ketchme17 No. You should stick to water based foundations etc because if you use oil based products, you are putting more oils on your skin! Understand?

  • So does that mean, since I have oily skin, that I should always get oil-based face products?

  • This makes so much sense and just like you said, I never thought about it. Thank you so much!

  • Thanks Wayne I'm shame to say that I am guilty of this. I combine my oil base moisturizer with water base foundation.
