I just wanted to point out that Canon introduced their first full-frame dslr in 2002 with the EOS-1Ds, while Nikon users had to wait until 2007 to see their first full-frame dslr with the D3. Canon is 5 years ahead of Nikon with this feature. So a switch to Nikon is not a switch to full-frame, only a switch to less-tested technology.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a D3, D3s, or D3x. I'm sure they're spectacular. But Canon did have full-frame first.

And ? So what if he feels a need to use a 1.7 TC? He actually states the reason, Canon 1Ds aren't full frames, which makes them a but out of place, however Nikon are full frame, so in occasion you would need a 1.7x TC for the 70-200 if you want the reach of the 70-200 on a Canon 1D3 for that matter.

Come on dude, it's simple logic.

@neverhood311 u realize full-frame is film sized, right? and u DO realize that nikon has been making cameras longer than canon, right? so because canon made a full frame digital before nikon that makes theirs better? not quite a very sound argument. FX/full frame isn't a feature, it's a format. autofocus and matrix metering and processors and AF speed are features. get ur vocab straight

I saved enough to quit my full time job and get into full time photography. I've been at it part-time, doing fashion shows, red carpets and weddings. Now, I'm ready to purchase new NIKON equip. I love the tips you give Mr. Harrison. Thanks so much!
