If Iran decided to shut down the petroleum-rich Strait of Hormuz tomorrow, they believe oil would skyrocket to $300-a-barrel in minutes, a price that one speculator predicted would result in $12-a-gallon gas. $12 a gallon.

where's the entire speech? We're supposed to just assume he was saying leaving Iraq means $12 a gallon gas without knowing the context? How can you determine what he was talking about from one sentence? Come on people, don't fall for this fear mongering crap. The average person is smarter than this. Post the whole speech.

The whole speech was about 45 minutes. There were other statements made regarding gas prices that were twisted also. I will post pieces of it later. I support Obama but the reason I posted this clip is because it was the most discussed part of the speech on Friday.

there is 1 action we can take to make gas prices go down overnight. we need to exempt gas stations from anti-trust laws. The biggest gas station chains in america lose a shit ton of money every year from their gas sales, and make all of their money from the stuff inside on the shelves. they could sell gas for 1 doller, and balance that loss with purchases inside. we would get cheaper gas, cheaper gas means cheaper everyday shit.....exclude gas stations from anti-trust laws thats the winner
