I think I may have found a cheat let me know if it works for you as it had me. once you get flow to one of the front water ways it unlocks what needs to be done now once u lose the water to try to get the second front water way going you DO NOT lose your spot before it still remains open so really you only need one water way running but i have to unlock them both at a certain point, but do not need both going at the same time.

How do you get the rope down to get to the side with the broken ladder?

Um...I haven't played this bit for a while, so sorry if I'm wrong, but I think that you get the water flowing on the side where you can climb up the ladder and this means that the gear room should work. Once you put the missing gear in, the lift/ride that takes you all around the different rooms works, so you can use that to jump onto the side where the ladder is broken. Hope that helped.

That's no problem, thanks for commenting! :o) That's a good idea drawing the combinations out-I can never remember how to do it, I just keep turning them all until they all flow!
