These wind turbine models are based on Horizon Wind's 2006 wind overlay map for Arkwright, NY with 1200ft setback from houses, and 500 setback from roads. The 48 turbines depicted in the video are within 15% of real, estimated dimensions, relative to the topological data. This video simulation was *not* created in cooperation with Horizon Wind.

  • Despite the subsides and the visual impacts to rural landscapes, would you rather see some wind turbines or crosses marking the graves of the 4,000 (and counting) who have died fighting the oil war in Iraq?

  • Are the set backs from houses or property lines?

  • Clean does not equal Green!

  • I recognise the music! The band played 'Believe it if You Likke!'

  • All the false and misleading claims the wind industry makes for itself work to disguise the fact that it is only a nominal producer of electricity in the eastern US. Its primary purpose is to provide extraordinary tax and income sheltering opportunities for a few wealthy investors at the expense of average taxpayers and rate payers. On a per kilowatt hour basis, wind is the most heavily subsidized source of industrialized power in the nation.

  • One of two citizens' groups that staked a claim in the future of wind turbines in northeastern Delaware County has agreed to drop its opposition to plans by developers.

In exchange for a financial contribution (sellout/bribe) with which to create a conservation trust, the Roxbury Association for Environmental Preservation said Thursday it agreed to not oppose plans by Invenergy LLC to site 34 turbines along the six-mile Moresville Range between Stamford and Grand Gorge.
