@urbamworm The newer pte bb units have an oil restrictor built in.

good night!

What do you expect with a .82 a/r lol?

You need a restrictor with a ball bearing turbo. Journal bearing doesn't use a restrictor. And that lag is to much for ball bearing even having the .82 a/r, not sure what is up. Maybe not enough timing? I have a journal bearing 5857 .63 a/r on my 1.8t (bored to 2 liter). I saw 22psi at 4350-4400rpm in cool weather and in the upper 80s-90s it was at 4600rpm (both in 3rd gear).

i didn't read the info before my 1st comment. you will like the .63 way better imho. What boost is your, 'full boost'? Because if it is not within the range off the turbo's best efficiency then it doesn't matter if you go down in exhaust housings because you can't flow enough properly to reach the 'sweet spot' of the turbo anyways. Thus you will like spool better then top end air flow. Peace!

well with a .82 ar you didn't expect quick spool did you? I have an .82 on my t66 on a grand national lol with a high stall and an auto. if you could change exhaust housings to a smaller one then your spool will increase. Some will counter argue that you will loose power top end, but what those people forget is that this 2.0 motor. If this made sense then you already know that the efficiency of the turbo is where you want to be, and on a 5857 thats high boost, but to get there you need flow.
I know these are best on kill mode past 35psi but was only at like 22 for the video demonstration of the lag. Another thing I'd like to add is that there is no oil restrictor on the turbo. Do you run one on yours? My turbo is burning oil and making white smoke so i'm assuming there is too much oil pressure in the chra. I read alot of people run no oil restrictors with no problem but I think I need one. I also heard too much oil pressure adds to the lagginess. Look forward to your response.

thanks for the comment darkside, I actually have a .63 A/R housing waiting at the shop. I'm going to have the .63 ceramic coated as well as the exhaust manifold which from what I know also might help in a small way with spool. I plan on definitely cranking it over 30psi once I get everything running how I want to, I used to run 30psi on the street on my old gt3071.
