im so sick of ppl saying prius's are so bad for the environment. um you drive a automobile. you use gas for that automobile, it requires oil to make it run oil is bad for the environment, so is coolant, yadda yadda. the prius at least holds up over time, uses less gas, uses less oil, and the coolant RARELY needs replacing. the batterys have been working fine on them for around 300k miles so whats so bad about that? nothing that i can see.

My 2004 has 178,000 miles, and uses a qt of oil every other fill-up, but otherwise still gets me 42 mpg commuting and slightly better on all day trips.

@Mausome could you explain how? mind showing some evidence? i'm interested.

another testament how reliable, durable and dependable toyota cars are. it's not about aesthetics/specs, it's about proven track record which IMO the most important.

As a Prius owner, I couldn't give a rats ass about the environment, I just want to save money when filling her up.

ehm....have you ever heard about Battery recycling ?

@autoxerwgn at least the civic will stop when you hit the brakes. but CR doesnt talk about thier beloved Toyotas in any negative light, i mean they reccomend them based on nothing without testing them.

haha, that's right...toyota is the best! And the new Prius's look sooo good! Hot Damn they look good especially the Prius 5 with the 17 inch wheels. Just wait until they improve upon the plug in in 5 years and increase the miles the car can go just on electric...we are looking at 100 MPG in about 5 years!
