Auckland Harbour Bridge - GETACROSS.ORG.NZ

On May 24 http://getacross.org.nz had organised for an open show of public opinion, to lobby for a walk and cycle pathway over the Auckland Harbour Bridge. Initially a walk across the Auckland Harbour Bridge was to be chaperoned by the Police, but at the 11th hour, the NZ Transport Authority withdrew support and left several thousand folk a little annoyed - what ensued was FANTASTIC!

Even with the new strengthening projects, the bottom line is the Auckland Harbour Bridge can't accommodate the number of vehicles - walking and cycling are a real alternative and a LOT of people are willing and would even prefer to have that access, so why isn't anyone listening!?

The media have turned this into something it is not, I suppose that's their job, here's what really happened.
