  • Being born in Nazare, my dad used to take us fishing in Praia do Norte beach. Sometimes we just stayed long periods looking at those massive and mysterious waves. Yet nobody was ever surfing them due to their gigantic size. Then Gerrett came along and put my beloved town in the spotlight around the world ... god bless you man.

  • that shit is badass

  • I used to surf on a boogie board there when I was a kid. Afterwards we would get pizza. Usually I would masturbate later that evening.

  • humm... must be the first time that we have gigantic waves in Nazare... and tanks to Garrett McNamara now everyone in Nazare knows where to find big waves....the foreigner told to the natives where to find good waves

  • @IAreChief Really ??? I'm Portuguese my friend, born and raised in Nazare, now living in UK. Se eu sou falso e nao acreditas, entao vai mamar na quinta pata do cavalo. Go translate that!!!!

  • @surf2ballet Its actually pretty interesting. He has tried glacier sufing (check out the glacier project). But this beach in particular has something few/no other places in the world offer... it sand banks. So you can get waves up to and possibly over 90ft (they claim to have seen bigger, just never ridden them), but spawning completely chaotically... what a perfect training ground?!

  • @hailmoonspell wow that sounds so rehearsed and fake...

  • Great surfing Garrett. 90? I was really hoping to se a 90 foot wave ridden. This was clearly the same size as HUGE jaws. Or Mavs with Flea.. This hype needs a truth check.. I know where you could find a 90' wave though... In the open ocean.. Near Alaska... I would tip my hat to you then Garrett..

  • i was born in portugal and live in america im so proud :)

  • @legslizard oops haha i did it on another video and got heaps of likes

  • Es una montaña de agua
