Michael Mosteller of Alum Creek fell victim to Bank of America when they tripled his interest rate for no apparent reason. He was never behind on payments, never missed a payment and never went over the limit on his account. He called Bank of America and nobody could give him a straight answer, and everyone he spoke to said he could not get his original lower interest rate back. He wrote his congressional leaders and even made a phone call to Ron Paul's office, and was in the process of contacting the attorney general's office when his rate mysteriously went back to its original 8% with no explanation as to why it changed again. Now, he's urging anyone else who has fell vicim to this fraudulent business practice to follow in his steps and contact your attorney general's office and your congressional leaders.

  • One thing to beware of is that ALL banks push through the highest charge first, that way they can hit you for more overdraft fees on the numerous smaller amounts of charges that normally wouldnt have overdrafted your acct. ALL banks do this, even on credit cards AND checking accts.

  • to jimmykim100, go with a local bank, they're less apt to collapse

  • For people who have online billing, it is actually quite hard to find this information and isn't available online, you have to call and ask what it is. Plus, I'm not sure if you lived under a rock immediately after the major bank collapse, but BOA was cited (and is now in court i believe) over raising interest rates on their customers without notification or reason.

  • Why would ANYONE bank with BoFA? FOOLS.

  • @iloveterriers it wasn't really a choice....my previous bank was providian or something like that and they sold my account over to bank of america
