  • I don't listen to music like this because I only listen to the garbage they play repeatedly on the radio.

  • Wow. Well thanks for stopping by! There is lots of great music that doesn't get aired on mainstream radio. Thanks to YouTube, you can see many, many great styles of music.

  • You're welcome. You know I was being sarcastic, right? I love this stuff, and the violin player is very skilled. I hope to be able to play Irish music like him someday.

  • Zac, your advice, thankfully, can be applied to any instrument. Everyone always says to play constantly, but they don't tell us the rest. I have made the mistake of being completely satisfied with what I know making my repertoire very limited.

Harp music is not interchangeable. I outgrew the lever harp but can't afford the pedal harp. I learned to break down the pedal music to it's basics and tinker with lever techniques to fit it on a smaller instrument.

Anyway, great advice for any musician.

  • Play constantly! Listen to everything that you can, watch, too. Always push yourself to learn new techniques, new tunings, new voicings, new melodies. Never be satisfied with with what you already know, but keep yourself excited by working on new ideas. That is how you keep things from getting stagnant. And never tell yourself "I can't do this, it is too hard." Try anything, break it down if you have to. Eventually you will get it. YouTube is full of amazing guitarists. Good luck!

  • My thought.... How do a become just as great a guitar player? lol

  • Well, I have a lot of guitar videos on here. Check 'em out and see what you think!

  • Guess I forgot to add that learning to play guitar, but not the bass guitar.

  • What are you trying to learn?

  • Heh maybe he can teach me a thing or two xD I'm "trying" to learn, but I'm having a hard time finding out what to do or where to start. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough? lol I'm not trying to learn the bass, but still.
