Bertie Ahern Resignation Speech Taoiseach - BERTIE RESIGNS

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern Resigns Bertie Ahern is to step down as Taoiseach and leader of Fianna Fáil on May 6th.

Mr Ahern said he was proud of his political achievements but denied any wrongdoing in relation to his personal finances. "I know in my heart of hearts that I've done no wrong," he said. Bertie Ahern has thanked his family and friends for support during his years as leader of the country.
