Tuesday night, the Norman City Council passed a proclamation 7 to 1, making October 2010 Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender History month. However, the lone council member who voted against the proclamation said he simply voted with his constituents.
Maybe I'd feel differently if it hadn't passed- I agree with the mention in comments of Civil Rights- but I also feel like he felt it was his responsibility to accurately represent the people that elected him, whether he really agreed with them or not.
I don't like calling representatives, it's difficult for me, but this has made me more likely to try in the future.

I'm actually glad he did. There needed to be a "peoples" vote. A solid chunk to show the ignorance, hatred, bigotry, and hedonistic values of these "moral Christians". At least I don't have to worry about them getting angry and lashing out at my comments, they probably don't understand sarcasm, and most likely don't know what most of these words mean.
