The Planes of Fame Museum has great collection of planes from all eras. It is privately owned and is open to the public. We took a trip to the museum because it has rare and old planes, as well as not so rare planes. The planes are military at the museum.

  • Just a thought, but why is the P51 Mustang called "the cadillac of the air' when it was powered by a Rolls Royce Merlin engine?

  • @floydfreak63 Not against Russian piloted MiG-15s. The chinese pilots had less training and experience. The two aircraft had parity of performance with each having a slight speed advantage at different altitudes.

  • @POFmuseum Thank you so much. I love and wish to help preserve history. I flew in the B-24 witchcraft back in August at Bolton field in Ohio and it was one of the greatest moments in my life. to both fly and at the same time donate to a historic fund was worth every penny.

  • @bad74maverick1

The aircraft you asked about is a Mitsubshi "Shusui" J8M1, which is the Japanese version of the ME-163 Komet. The Germans shared some of their technology with the Japanese during the war. This particular aircraft is the very first aircraft "saved" by Ed Maloney, founder and Curator of Planes of Fame Air Museum.

  • @shermanace

You are correct, the jet is a ME-162A-1 Volksjager and it is curently being repainted (Jan/2012) at the museum facilities in Chino, CA. It is an authentic aircraft but is preserved as a static display.

  • @shermanace only two Stukas survived intakt to this day, none flying

  • german panzers however...are being dug up all over the place in russia.....should go over..but some..restore them...collectors do....

  • allies basically destroyed whatever german luftwaffe planes they found..but there are those stored away...saw a german owl nightfighter ..in pieces..at smithsonian...

  • Same old annoying music.

Everyone uses this same type of music.

  • Mmm oyes k cancion es la k usaste .. ??
