At Uprising XXIII's Grand Court on Saturday, June 20th, the rain started to lightly fall on the pavilion as Arn Hold's Barroness Giliana began her speech, "I am very sad that our friends, our Cousins, Ryryd (ap Gwerstan) and Anna (de Barabant) had to leave early, because this really is for them. However, we cannot miss this opportunity because there are those who can carry our message to them.

On July 25th, right now, there is scheduled to be a battle between two Baronies. The Barony of Loch Salan and the Barony of Gryphon's Lair. And this is very troubling. Because these are our cousins and these are our friends and they are tearing this Kingdom apart!

Baron Fish, you are the father of our household... whether you like it or not." Laughs arose from court as she continued, "And Ryryd is our true friend and countryman.

And therefore we looked into the grievances as best as we could.
I understood that there was pillaging. Well, alleged pillaging. No one knows the truth. But clearly Loch Salan feels slighted. They feel that their flocks have been thinned and their stores depleted. And they have no choice but to attack.

So we looked deep into our flocks to see what we could do about this. And we found something that we might be able to send back.

Giliana turned to His Highness, Price Sean, "Your highness, would you be willing to assist us in this?"

With a smile, unaware of what was about to happen, Prince Sean replied, "I would be delighted, of course."

He was then handed a pair of stuffed sheep and the populace began to laugh.

Baron Braden jumped in, "Your Majesties, you Highness, Arn Hold has a presentation."

Lady Clare then shouted, "Everybody from Arn Hold!"

One by one, A FLOCK of stuffed (and 3 blow up) sheep, and even a sheep whistle, were presented from the Barony of Arn Hold to His Royal Highness, Prince Sean to take to Ryryd and Anna.

Even the Scotsman had more sheep than he knew what to do with.

(The clicking noises is the video taking still shots.)

"One of these pictures has got to be on the cover of next month's Sage." Her Majesty shouted with great glee.

Then Lord Porthos presented his gift, "It wouldn't be complete without sheep dip."

"Now, we are sad his Excellency Ryryd had to miss this..." Braden said.

"As... Am... I!" chimed Prince Sean.

"But wait, there's more." Braden said.

Giliana says, "I suspect they are going to go on with this war as it is, so therefore we have made for the Barony of Loch Salan, a pennant to hang while they fight this terrible battle. So please relay this to his Excellency."

"Oh, We Shall." Sean said.

The banner for Loch Salan reads "Oves Dentati" (Sheep with Teeth).

Braden stepped in, "Good Cousins of Gryphon's Lair, for you..."

Baron Fish rose to his feet and pleaded, "My Beloved Prince, could I perhaps take some of those sheep off your hands?" as he was thrown a stuffed sheep to take back to Gryphon's Lair.

"And so therefore for you..." Giliana says, as they presented a banner to Baron Fish and Baroness Daria. The banner for Gryphon's Lair read "Carpe Oves."
"Sieze the sheep." Braden reads. "Your majesties, flying these banners over Baron's War is only fitting."

"Yes, yes, I think so." Her Majesty Sati says.

The Sheep jokes continued all through the rest of court and are still going on to this day.

  • Brilliant! I was outside the pavilion and couldn't hear properly what was actually being said.
