On March 8th, 2008, writer/poet Jack Cook read "I sing of Olaf glad and big" by E.E. CUMMINGS. The recitation was given as part of A Night of Modern Vaudeville at the Ti-Ahwaga Performing Arts Center in Owego, NY.
The poem depicts a gruesome account of violence inflicted upon a conscientious objector to the first World War. Cook, a 'non-cooperator,' refused induction and was sentenced to 3 years in a federal prison during the Vietnam War. He brings this poem to life in a poignant recitation of the E.E. CUMMINGS classic.
