The trailer for The Road, based on a novel by Cormac McCarthy. Starring Viggo Mortensen, Guy Pierce, Robert Duvall, and Charlize Theron. Coming this fall...

Actually this is my own edit made up of clips from the terribly gaudy official trailer. I loved the book very much, and when I saw the trailer many aspects of it made me nearly vomit. I cut out all the lame titles, as well as the pathetic disaster footage in the beginning. Those tornadoes better have been added solely for the trailer, because the book has nothing to do with tornadoes. It's not even about the "one event that will change the face of the planet." They must have been trying to reel in the same audience that liked "Knowing" or something. This movie isn't that kind of story at all. Another thing wrong with the official trailer is that so many of the shots seemed too damned bright. McCarthy seems to describe it so that daylight never gets any brighter than twilight. Also, there's supposed to be ash EVERYWHERE, but the official trailer just looks like a damned November day. I'm hoping this is because the movie is not complete yet. Anyway, I colour-corrected the whole thing and added lots of ashes. Hope you enjoy it.

  • I don't understand the complaints about this movie not having a direction or a point??? This takes place aprox. 10 years after 'the apocalypse' (whatever happend?) There isn't supposed to be a point! This movie is about the last strands of humans struggling to live out the rest of their pointless lives before humans fall completely into extinction.

The only point is we better take care of things now, or the shit is gonna hit the fan in a very irreversible way.

  • war.... war never changes

  • @MrJoeFlat I couldn't give a shit about the environment I mean its gonna burn eventually with or without us its inevitable so why get rid of our luxuries to live longer in a shitty world, I wanna die happy, comfortable, and relaxed

  • @leemailme

peak oil is happenning if you don't understand that, than please enjoy the rest of your life and the one of your family

  • This movie is so sad.

  • Nobody here would survive more than a day during the apocalypse.

  • @horrorandmetalfan001 I saw from the directors that 'the point' is the connection between the guy and his son. It's not focused around global warming and whatnot, that's why they didn't show the REASON for the apocalypse, they just showed the boy and his father.
