This is one of my favorite Rich Mullins songs of all time that he wrote and recorded on a tape player soon before passing away. It has haunted me for the past 13 years to the point of me wanting to turn on my own mp3 recorder and laying down my own version of the song. I then found images that seemed to go along with the song that were offered by the kind photographers who make their pictures available through creative commons licensing so that I could spend some free time I had over the Christmas holiday making this video that has been on my mind to do for quite a while now. Maybe somebody will find this song as meaningful as it has been to me over the years.

  • Rich Mullins is my favorite songwriter of all time and this is my favorite song of his. I have have never heard a version of this song that comes close to the demo he made a few days before he died... until now. This is my favorite cover of "Hard to Get". I'm not sure why, as it's not really "my style". Still, I love it! Ya know, the thing I love about Rich's recording is the honesty you hear in his voice... like he's just pouring his heart out. That's what I hear in this version. Nicely done.

  • @theentrtnr Thanks, much, @theentrtnr ! Rich had a huge impact on the early years of my faith though I never met the man. This was also one of my favorite songs of the Jesus record. It continues to haunt me often with prophetic honesty which reminds me of the original authors of scripture. This version is not my favorite style either as I have experimented with many different versions of this song, but for some reason, I chose to hit record with this one one day. Glad it was meaningful for you.

  • Dude you butchered this. This sucks. He was Rich Mullins...not friggin Jason Maraz! Good God this is awful!

  • @craigd2599 thanks for the honesty.

  • @craigd2599 It's about the lyrics and the feelings it evokes... my stupid friend.

The 2nd half (if you heard it) was touching in its own way.

  • @CoachLanceSmith funny, and thanks, coach. :)

  • @novialthinginmyi thanks, friend.

  • I love the picture compilation you put together with this. Very original take on the way to play the song too. I would have never thought of it!

  • @ProjectNReSource Thanks!
