@thetan63 - I found the episode, and it was the Outer Limits episode "Corpus Earthling." (My recollections about a blob creature falling from a ceiling onto someone's face were faulty. The creatures in this episode were blob-like and the victims did end up with them on their faces, but they crawled, they didn't drop as I misrecollected.)
