Animated people on model train in G-scale.
The wagons and the house are standard plastic models from LGB and Pola, but the inner works are own design. Each wagon is controlled by its own PIC16F84 microcontroller, ie. there are no remote control from the outside. The movements are completely autonomious! The Caboose has a sensor on it's wheel, so that the man comes out and flashes his blue light, when the wheel starts to move the other wagons just make random movements.
The doors and persons are moved by standard servos. Each wagon carries it's own batteries.
The PIC 16F84 is a single chip microprocessor and is the brain inside each of the wagons. I have written the programs myself in MikroC and CtoC. One processor is able to control up to four servos and a few flashing lamps.
