Jason and I were watching the Dodgers when Vin suddenly started talking about the death of John Wooden. We immediately paused the DVR and decided to record Vin's message regardless of what it was. I'm so glad we did.
"And as usual, when it gets down to it, Shakespeare said it best: His life was gentle and the elements so mixed in him that nature might stand up and say to all the world, 'This was a man.'"
What a fitting tribute to a man of dignity from a man of true class. It doesn't get any better than that.

I get chills watching this. RIP Coach Wooden, and I hope you live forever, Vin! I may be an Angels fan but no one can ever rival Vin, much like no one could ever rival Wooden.

@bromink1 Very well said my friend. We truly have been blessed here in So.California. There will never be another, "Wizard of Westwood". There is no doubt in my mind coach Wooden is touching the face of God. As for the greatest voice in baseball Vin Scully, I dread the day when we will no longer here those famous words, "it's time for Dodger Baseball".

There will never be another like John Wooden. The same can be said for Vin Scully. How fortunate we in LA have been to have known these men, even if only as fans, and how dismal our current world is that there are so few left that are like them. Thanks for posting this eloquent tribute.
