  • great video

    nice compare

    but

i switch of the ESP each time on the sand

i think the car will be faster on sand without traction control

i will tray my car in slow driving over sand then i will see

thank you for this great video

  • You are correct, I do the same when I go one sand I always turn off the ESP.

But what we are talking about is not the ESP, we are talking about the Traction Control system which limit the wheel slippage.

ESP is about correcting the vehicle direction on case of over-steering and under-steering.

  • When you are on sand shouldn't you turn ESP and Traction Control off. ESP as you stated will correct the direction of the car, but traction control brakes the spinning wheel which would slow momentum down in soft boggy sand where the tires are constantly slipping and gripping.

  • Traction Control can not switched off! ,, its only the ESP that can be switched off by ESP button.

So what I did to solve this problem is that I added a switch to disconnect the ABS fuse which disables the ESP and Traction control totally. and I turn it On again whenever I need it when off-roding to use the Traction Control feature.

  • Very nice video. Thanks for sharing. I have a WK with Quadra-Track II. I had no idea it was so capable! Do you think you could do a side by side comparison with a Commander with a Quadra-Drive II system?

  • Quadra-Drive II has ELSD (Electronic Limited Slip Differential) in both front and rear diffs which acts like diff-locker in case of wheel slippage. while Quadra-Track II has regular open differentials.

Quadra-Drive II is considered one of the most advanced 4x4 system to maximum traction and limited wheel slippage.

  • after turning it on and backing up a lot........

Its not locked dude....It is the Quadra Trac II system and he did engage the traction control. Know what 4x4 system you are talking about before you call people names.

  • Wouldn't all that sand clog up the wheels?

  • I just bought this jeep with the 5.7 it's a beast

  • all that showed is that yo have to reverse any way...

  • now really because of the way this car came out of the situation it was in i love this car!!

  • dude that commander would be nice with air suspension

  • Number one it apeared to have full time 4x4 with traction control - problem with traction control u can burn your brakes up if yon give to much gas and commanders are really hard on the rear brakes because of this. When u lock it ur locking transfer case so both axles work like conventional 4x4.traction control then simulates having actually better then lockers untill the brakes get hot or burn up.

  • yes tha's right
