@HorseExpression well we have a beginner novice and a novice, and a beginner open, open, utility a, utility b. yeah. With Beginner novice we use 6ft leashes and a 15 ft leash for recall and long sits and downs. In Novice its all off leash except for the figure of 8 and the heeling.

@MTrench4life13 Must be different then. We are to use six foot leashes for Obedience, and three foot 'leashes' for Showmanship. And there is no Novice two here, unless you're in Novice B with your second dog.

@HorseExpression I think it's different in my area then. I'm in Open with my dog and I do a drop-on recall. In Novice 2, the dog has no 15-ft leash and they are told to finish aswell. But with Novice 1 the dog has a 15-ft leash but does not have to perform the finish. Strange how different countries can be different even though with the same program.

@Missfunkymunky13 Maybe it's different in your area, or maybe you simply have no former knowledge about 4-H Obedience, but I'll enlighten you either way; a recall consists of a sit, stay, the handler walks to the end of the leash, then calls the dog, and then the dog must come straight in and sit in front of the handler. Then the dog is told to finish.

not too bad but loosen up on that lead kid!! lol

Oh, it looks like its a 15 ft leash. Was this in Beginner Novice or Novice? Cause usually in Novice your off leash for the recall, and in beg. novice you dont have to do finish, but maybe its different where you are..

thats very good for beginner novice. What level is he in now??
ummmm... why does he have to do finish and why is the dog on a 15 ft leash?

Because this is obedience when you do a recall you must finish and it is a 6ft lead.
