"This vid, by 16 (at the time) year old ImaginarySanity, casts James T. Kirk from the original 1960s Star Trek series as the subject of Britany Spears hit song Womanizer. It layers appropriated clips of the Starship captains romances-of-the-week combined with a series of colored filters and motion effects to match the video to the beat of the audio. It is no secret that sexism plagued the first Star Trek series and considering Kirks notorious skirt-chasing, we think the vid exposes his inner womanizer perfectly.

ImaginarySanity also playfully hints at a mass media double standard: while its acceptable (and often expected) for men to be sexually available and have multiple partners without settling down, women who engage in similar sexual activity are criticized and often portrayed as sluts. As the ending credits indicate this vid characterizes Kirk as the male slut and portrays his Casanova ways in a more critical light."

This project has taken me about 3 months to finish, and it's probably the craziest editing I've ever done. This video is symbolizing the stereotype of Captain James T. Kirk being a womanizer. (of course in reality he only sleeps with about 2 women, but he usually uses the women he kisses in one way or another for the benefit of the good in the episode)

Oh yes, and this video is NON-SLASH....although there are hints of it at the beginning & end.

Holy cow. You did this at 16 ??????? You are truly gifted, then - and obviously driven :-D. There's a tremendous amount of work on these images, their choice, colors and other special effects. The end result is terrific ;).

If I may ask, what significance for you of that last shot with Spock? Is it supposed to be Kirk realizing what Spock thinks of him? Is it a scolding? Or is it Jim realizing that at the end of all, the one that does matter is Spock ? Just curious :).

Thank you very much, monroemary! It's nothing to really over analyze...it's actually sort of a joke that Kirk lusts for anything with a pulse. XD And Spock is definitely one of them! Hahaha.

Une question, madame. I recognize the clip of Kirk in the command chair stretching a hand towards Yeoman Rand, but then pulling it back with a sad expression on his face. I recognize the scene but not the episode. Can you tell me which it was?

I love how a lot of the looks and smiles in this are from scenes where Kirk actually directed them at Spock. XD
