Thanks again. Guess it will help the Diamond. Question: How can you connect to a BNC connector? I was thinking a stainless steel clamp. Maybe I'll look at Home Depot tomorrow.

Jerry,
Thanks for the video, I have a FT-60 and a VX 8r. I believe they take the same connetors. I was wondering if the counterpoise would help just with the stock antennas and where or how would I find the lengths for 220 mhz. Also would only having one frequency counterpoise be ok to transmit in another frequency with the counterpoise attached.
Good Job!

Jerry, can you explain the math behind your project? How do you get to the cable lenghts?
Thanks

Just wanted to say thank you for this video. Watched it, and made my Yaesu VX-7R one. Next time the only thing I'm going to change is I used 12 gauge wire, and I'm going to drop that to about 16 or 18. 12 gauge is so stiff have a hard time laying my radio down, and could only get the 2 meter and 70 centimeter into the adapter. Still can't believe how much it gained me in clarity range! 73's
Thanks Bobby
