no handling thats the stupidest shit ever said. In 88 no American car had ever handled that good before and car and driver and r/t etc. said it defied reality, the handling was amazing. also the looks every car in 1988 was a box with doors. so it looked just as good as it handled. true vette fans no what im saying.

lol what a retard, he is acting like a corvette is just an expensive camaro. corvettes DO have a superb level of engineering and handle better than any other american car, and no its not only about the size of the engine, you dont think if GM wanted to that they could stick a 900hp motor in a vette? but they dont because it IS about more than horsepower, if you want to go fast in a straight line get a camaro, if you want all around performance, get a vette.

@88mpny I feel the same way. I have driven many cars and few give me everything like the vette. I'm not saying I wouldn't rather drive a Lamborghini (I would) but I also wouldn't want to have to maintain that bitch either & I for one don't like being broke down on the side of the road (which is exactly where I see most Italian exotics).

@bronxboyXXX I know I have a copy of the 1984 motor trend with the new Vette on the cover. they say that the handling of the newly designed Vette defied reality up to that point and i can testify and agree. i am a proud owner of a 1988 Z52 Coupe all original with 54,000 miles. it's an amazing car and brings a huge smile to my face every time i drive it.

@greatrace53 This is so true I have a six speed 95 corvette and my father (rest his soul) had a 00 six speed TA that he would never let me drive. Anyway after he passed I have the opportunity & all I can say is it's no Vette. A Vette takes corners like a roller coaster & feels like a race car because it is; where as the TA handles like any other domestic. I almost killed myself driving the TA because I forgot and dove into a circular off-ramp thinking it was like my Vette, NOT!!!!!

Handling was definitly top notch on this car at the time. Plus the Bosch III ABS system and 300 ft/lbs. of torque = lots of fun!! I have an 86 and I don't care it only has 240 HP, the ladies love doing donuts in it.
