It was a warm June day as Washington's Elite converged at the Capital Polo Club June 27th 2010 for a day of polo, fashion, food and charity at this years 4th Annual Green Cup of Polo. With a celebrity polo match starting before the main event this was the place to be last Sunday. Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley was represented at the match as well as the Ambassador of Ireland Michael Collins, the ambassador of Pakistan Husain Haqqani and Minister Matthias Sonn from the German Embassy. Red Bull and Under Armour were among the sponsors and the food in the VIP area was provided by the exquisite Hudson Restaurant & Lounge.
Similar to Virginia's Gold Cup the Green Cup of Polo brings together philanthropists, socialites, horse enthusiast and political leaders to socialize and network in a beautiful and relaxed atmosphere. DC's own Emme Porter was the assistant producer of the runway Eco Fashion Show that immediately followed the main event as well as staffing all of the EmmeGirls Models. Hats off to the girls that performed brilliantly even as it started to rain during the Show. The rain was welcomed by most attendees as they got to cool off as they watched the beautiful models walk the runway wearing designs by Samantha Pleet, Dalia Mac Phee and Vaute Couture.
