  • How much electricity does it produce? That could work for me. If my house had an old TV antenna, I would place one on that.

  • @AXESMI it spinns at 150 rpm in 15kmh and it produces around 20watt at that speed. more wind you get more power. i build them for my enjoyment and the challange not for the power neccesarly. if you have room i suggest you build a hawt.

    regards

  • hhhhaaaaa hhhaaaa...fuk'n hand puppets...aaahhhahah....good one dude....ahahaha...

  • @TheTwistedGypsy how did you end up here dude? did you notice the turbine?

  • @emagnets Yup. ..Been looking into solar and wind home build projects. I Like this design. I think I would have put it half above and below the top rail of the porch though. But it fits right into the landscape and yard . But the best thing of all was...."Those fuk'n shadow puppets'.....omg pissed myself ...PS..I was so rootingg for the puppet on the right...hahahaha

  • lol..i dont know why i did the puppets..check out my latest project the column.

  • Wow, I like it a lot! Looks like it cost a lot less than the savonius I built. If you view my videos, you will see mine. Yours is much more cost effective.

  • How much wind is required to turn it, how much electricty is generated? Would you be willing to share the parts list and/or plans. I also have a tall deck and this looks easier than mounting a turbine on a pole, and cheaper too!

  • @rgody, yes, i did research the ebike motors, they reqiure more rpm than waht the turbine is capable of. i need a low rpm gen to work best with my turbines.

    thanks for the suggestiion.

  • Have you thought to use hub motors of electric bicycles?

  • @Bertziethegreat . yes, they give me more blade area, so more tork.
