Oasis - "(Get Off Your) High Horse Lady" Electric Sitar Style

The band Oasis hit the streets of NYC to launch the promotion of their new CD last week (9/12/08). Their approach to promoting the new CD was really innovative and cool. They got in touch with 20 musically diverse subway musicians to perform brand new songs from their forthcoming CD due out in October. Their label and producers contacted my band Next Tribe though the MTA Music Under New York website and sent me the lyrics and 4 of the unreleased songs to learn.

The goal of their promotion was to have 20 different musicians perform the new Oasis songs at different subway stations around NYC. So the only way for fans to hear and preview the new Oasis songs was from the subway musicians!

I really wanted to reinterpret the songs in my style so I decided to play it on my electric sitar and recruit special guest Pete List to provide the drum beat foundation via human beatbox with James on Bass and KK on percussion. I chose the songs High Horse Lady and Bag it Up.

This is me and Next Tribe playing "(Get Off Your) High Horse Lady" using electric sitar and beatbox during the rehearsal in Brooklyn with Oasis. The band loved the sitar guitar. They joked that they want to record the song again with the sitar guitar!
