Aka Edinburgh awakens to Fringe Sunday 2008.
Aka a cobbling together of little bits of tosh on my camera.

Very brief clip of Vada Riah used with permission.

  • Wow, it was like wonderland for me when I dropped from the sky into that city and stepped into the Dragonfly late one night. A very mysterious city, indeed. Thanks for the footage, can't believe I was really there.

  • Did you step into the Dragonfly without prior notice to Ms. E? That would have had real wow factor!

I had some vague Edinburgh memories from an early childhood day trip with my parents, and not sure it's much less mysterious a city after my couple of quickie revisits this August. But it was so exciting to re-encounter a familiar face there, be indulged by all-round nice folk, and learn something about free fringe struggles.

  • Yes, quite a grand city that Edinburgh is.

It was strange how you went down those steps and seemed to emerge in another world, like Alice In Wonderland.

Was Elise the MC for "Ship Of Fools Adrift"?

Good to see her outside of her Peckham kitchen and futon couch for a change.

  • Emerging into Wonderland? Heh. Didn't think of that. The tacky Christmas tree took me forward a few months, and those big jars of sweets (candies pour vous?) took me back many a decade. Not sure what dimension the shawarma place and mid-morning hava nagila rendition took me to.

Yes, Elise was Ship Of Fools Adrift MC - and a lot more when guests didn't turn up.

  • Yea, she didn't know I would be at that show. So, it was sort of a surprise, though I did tell her when I would be in town.

I agree about the exciting and nice folk part, my encounters with people all though my visit were extraordinaire. Can't wait to do it again.

  • Thanks for coming (and thanks for all your help!)
