I'm a rape survivor. And I found that shit hilarious. What you might not understand is that after even that kind of violence you CAN recover, and it DOESN'T have to rule your life. I can talk about my rape with a shrug and a laugh most days. So stop judging. Amanda Fucking Palmer does what she does, and I fucking love it.

everyone is misreading this song. it's more about the teenage brain blowing off the important things in life and making on-the-whim decisions while obsessing over a band. It doesn't really matter what those things happen to be, aka date rape and abortions, but in this case, thats what they are.

I have exactly the same point of view as you (women should be able to choose) but, unlike you, I don't fool myself as to believing it is a fundamental truth. It's a value judgement (in conflict with other value judgements). It's when people, like you, stridently try passing their value judgements off as some unalterable statement of reality that it gets ugly. Both sides do it. It's stupid.
