  • How far down are you supposed to go when you make this hat--like, how many rows of working even do you do before you end? I used a J hook with Caron Simply Soft and the circumference is about 18"...I have a feeling it may be a little too big...

  • @kyut530 Hey there....In the tutorial Mikey goes to row 14 working even then starts brim directions @ row 15

    cathy@mikeys helpdesk;)

  • Spent hours, made this the first time, way too big...Made it the second time - smaller needle...It fits my head....:( Debating a thrid time - skipping the row of 2 in each stitch......or calling it a lost cause.

  • @hgeimer what type of yarn/hook r u using??? a thicker yarn or hook than what the pattern calls for will make your hat bigger....i hopeyou don't give up..... lets see if i can help you figure this out!!! cathy@ mikeys helpdesk :)

  • great videos! They are the only ones I can follow so far... If I want to make the hat bigger so I add more to the initial chain or do I add more 1/2 double crochets making the initial circle.. So instead of 12 would I add 17 or whatever? Please help! :)

  • @hgeimer I'm having the same problem! I tried 3 different kinds of hooks, 2 significantly smaller than the hook he used, and 2 kinds of yarn, both that were roughly the same size he was using. I've tried making this hat FOUR times! EVERY SINGLE TIME it comes out being an adult size... like bigger than would fit my head...

What gives? What could I be doing wrong? Very frustrated!! Help!!! lol

  • Great video! Made it perfectly the first time.. took an hour.. starting another one :o) Thanks!

  • awesome I did it XD
