Great Boston based band from circa 1980. They were never signed to a major label, but were quite popular in the New England area at the time.
This performance is from the Boston: Live! TV show, which aired weekday evenings on Channel 68. A whos who of local and national bands came through this studio, usually performing four for five songs which were aired all week.
@TinaVolume Thank you for responding. I will try and find him on FB. I am on FB under the name Charles Forssi. I have not talked to him in almost 30 years. I remember him telling me he had two daughters. They must be grownup now. If you see him, let him know I am looking. Thank you again, Charles

@cforssi
Hi Charles, I remember meeting you a few times back then. I'm sure Pete would be happy to hear from you. He recently got on facebook, If you look him up there, I don't think he has an icon photo...and it will say he's married to Katherine Downing. If your not a FB guy, then I'm sure you can look him up, he lives in South Boston, if that doesn't work, let me know, and I'll give him a call.

Great Band - I remember seeing them at Jacks on Mass Ave - the bass player in Peter Dayton band was awesome on stage

The volume is too low on this video, which is a shame, because it's a beautiful song, and a good live rendering of it.
I recall reviewing the EP or LP, from whence this song came, back in my days as a music journalist.
This song is very Lou Reed-ish, has a pretty "Pale Blue Eyes"-Velvets feel to it.
If you know that song, Reed, and The VU, you know what I mean. And if you don't, then it makes no never-mind, and just enjoy this tune on its own merits.

Yeah, Peter broke off from LaPeste to do surf-punk kind of music. The Peter Dayton Band was very slick but like most Boston bands, just couldn't get national attention!

Wasn't Peter originally in LaPeste? I seem to remember seeing him in LaPeste. "Stuck on the Same Refrain" was a great song.

great video - Peter was a true talent - and the band was really inspirational - seems hard to believe I used to hang out with these guys...
