''catching a house fly'' a better title for this video

Poor form and disgraceful. When punching who head is that high.
He spends more time shaking out his body then he does doing his crappy hits.
He looks like he's doing a crappy dance or something.
I want to face him and counter it with JKD and say see maybe you should learn more before you attempt to teach it.
FAIL!!!!!

In JKD, if its for speed. The body mechanics are backwards. The hand leaves first. Bruce classified this as The Hammer Principle.

you move too much whit the hips. 1.foot.2.hips.3.shoulder not 132 ....---Peace

The philosophy of JKD is for it to be persoanl for everyone like a tailored suit, as burce said the fastest distance between two objects is a direct route, therefore training poor form is not logical and must be rejected. Of crouse you do not want to limit yourself, that said poor technuiqe as demonstrated is limiting the practioner in achieveing maximum effeciency somethig that is counter intuitive to JKD. As bruce said "adapt what is useful, reject what is useless".

what????!!!

Wen Bruce punch, he puts his hip and waist into it, and snap it....which generates an large amount of energy to the target...

Your punch is too circular. There should be an arc return on the way back. But when it goes out, it must be completely straight. I firmly believe that anyone doing JKD should start with Wing Chun first. It will give you the foundation. All of Bruce's JKD principles will make sense. That's how Bruce taught it himself. You had to learn Jun Fan (modified Wing Chun) before you could learn JKD. Practice lots of straight blast using paper target and wallbag filled with rice or beans for power.
