This was one of the songs heard on the radio in Philadelphia in the late 80's. According to Wiki, it reached #74 on Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on Mainstream Rock Tracks. So you did have a #1 afterall! Original music video http://www.youtube.com/user/TommyConwellVEVO#p/a/u/1/a4xsjCH1d0I

  • Back in 89' 93.3WMMR, the radio station Tommy mentions in the vid, ran a contest for high schools where the winner got a free concert at thier school. My school won the concert we got was Tommy Conwell & the Young Rumblers opening for the Hooters. Great show, my first concert ever, and a great way to cap off my senior year!

  • I caught Tommy and the rumblers at the Bottom Line in NYC, I believe it was sept or Oct of 89' and they were a truly great rock and roll band. I am not sure why they are not together on a reunion. Classic songs and classic instrumental line up- Fender amps, hammond B3 Leslie, piano chops etc. Come on Tommy and the guys- You have a lot of heart- get back together- Coffee house is cool but it is lacking the passion of the band and the earthy tones of tube grit and grinding hammond leslie combo.

  • True story: I had the disctinct pleasure to get up on stage with Tommy after one of his shows at a warehouse in Manayunk in the 80's. I grabbed a tamborine, with my friend Randi in the audience looking on, and jammed with Tommy! I was keeping up with the tune and then turned around and mistakenly hit him in the forehead with the tamborine (left side). I felt horrible but he was ok with it! That was a dream come true (to be "with the band")!! Awesome artist! We missed you TC!

  • The best ever. For 25 years I've see Tommy play. I've never seen someone who embodies Philly. And if you are over 45 (like me) then you may remember the Rumbers in their heyday.

  • Pretty great. Great song and seems like a cool guy.

  • i was there! he was awesome<33333333

  • one of my favorite songs of all time
