I've competed in weight pulling with my Sheltie and being a 20 pound, 13 inch boy, his record was 320 pounds. He is working on his Advanced Novice Draft Dog title now. Carting is our new love. One more test and he will be the first Sheltie in the USA to earn an ANDD title!

Do some research before making such comments. Dogs were draft animals LONG before horses. In fact, in North America, Native Americans used dogs to pull their travois until the Spanish brought horses here. Horses are not native the North American continent.

@kokomotoXDgirl There is no such thing as a toy Sheltie. Breed standard calls for them to be 13-16 inches at the shoulder. There are dogs that fall outside of that range, including dogs smaller than 13 inches but, that does NOT make them "toys" and they are not rare. Sizes in the breed can vary wildly, even within the same litter. And a good breeder would never intentionally breed a miniature version of a breed with the sole purpose of creating a "toy" version.

not very nice to be straning them like this. youre making 1 dog haul your lazy ass around town. get a horse if you want to do that. dogs arent meant for that

This is fantastic! The best thing I've seen in a while! Typically how much weight can a sheltie or a collie pull on it's own (or in tandem in the case of the shelties)?

I made the harness. The reins are 6 foot dog leashes. I am steering his neck.

Hmm.. if its a two wheel cart, does it put weight on the harness?

No it is designed to lift up the dog. It is a lever.
