@PvtRager on top of what those guys said, it would help if you have some sort of military background, maybe join the reserves while going to school to become a cop and stay in the reserves for a few years. or do 3 years service before going to school. it will make your resume stand out of the rest when applying to ETF.

@G8D7 Realistically you'll need 7-8 years as a Toronto Police Constable before you can get onto ETF. You can apply for it as soon as you are a 1st Class PC, but that doesn't mean you'll get in. ETF is one of the most sought after positions in Toronto Police and you'll need to establish a very good resume of credentials before you have a shot of being selected.
