Part 1
So due to the HOT HOT summers here in Texas, I surrended to powder paints.
I ending up buying both Starblends and Ben Nye paints. Starblends to be used dry and Ben Nye to be used wet.

Here is my opinion on both products and a demo on how they apply.

Please note these are just MY oppinion.

enjoy!

  • You should try Mehron Paradise AQ.

  • @Head2ToeTheatrical are you refering to the regular paradise paints??? I have used them.... or are you refering to some other powder paint??

  • @Sparklingfaces The Mehron Paradise AQ that comes in individual pots or 8 color pallet that works with water. I was not sure if some other brand was promoting a Starblend makeup now. Thanks for your quick reply.

  • @Head2ToeTheatrical - yep I have used those.... not a big fan, but love how well they blend :)

  • Agree, too messy and don't cover well. I do like the Ben Nye Lumiere for rouge and for softer colours than DFX . They are good both wet and dry, even some better than others.

  • @LoneWolfCreations ya know - I bought kryolan mozart pink for rouge and i have NEVER had to use it, I think it does add a little something extra to the design, but not enough POW to add another step to my normal faces

  • yeaasss gecko green.... :c, disspointed as well!

  • I read somewhere about using a mixing liquid with Ben Nye, did you try that? Doesn't sound like it removes easily though, has an acrylite in it.

  • I wanted to note that I use star blends regularly. I use them for various reasons. Star blends to be used properly need to be treated as a high pigmented eyeshadow. Try using fluffier eye shadow brushes to apply them and eye shadow blenders. I love the star blends during the summer here in South Texas. I did Lucha Libre in Corpus Christi and I only used my paints once during the event. They melted completly off. The Star blends however stayed on while the sweat just beaded up.

  • @lrjava5 no i haven't arn't those the loose powders??? I normally work very windy events so I dont see those being an option for me... thanks for the info though!
