@EHeroAndrew Actually, more like since the '40s, with FDR. But it jumped a lot in the 60s, and then it REALLY took a turn for the worse in the 2000s when shows like Family Guy came out and other shows were just pushing the sexual and violent envelope. Not to mention the news unearthing all of these stories about paedophile priests and Moslem terrorists. THERE'S MORE TO THE WORLD THAN CATHOLICS AND MOSLEMS. There are sexually promiscuous Protestant pastors and communist killing machines, too.

Well, neither was I, but a lot of the stuff you've just seen here was and is the sort of stuff that the Christian Right supports. Gender roles. Violence. Telling it like it is whether it offends or not. And smoking.And of course religion and God and Christianity.
Democrats are the ones to blame for the current trends, including promiscuity, religious ambiguity, and P.C. of course.
