  • MST, thanks so very much for posting these very rare clips....just incredible.

By the way-do you have an idea on how to obtain the CBS news coverage of the very first Saturn V launch(Nov. 9th, 67')when the ceiling started to fall down on Walter Cronkite from the intense sound pressure -I've searched but cannot find this anywhere.

Anyway thanks and have a great day.

  • Sorry, don't where that would available, unless CBS runs it again. These are all that I have.

  • are these from the "spacecraft Films" DVD of apollo 11 comes with 8 hrs of TV like this?

  • These are from separate re-broadcasts of each networks' coverage, not from any re-packaged DVD or tape collection. BTW, the titling is actually my own.

  • @NowhereMan1966 your uncle was a moron

  • @user92126 disney anniversary :)

  • No problem. My uncle passed away almost 2 years ago, I miss talking to him about NASA and so on. He was there from the Mercury days to the Shuttle and he worked on the Titan ICBM at Martin Marrieta before that. BTW, we did have a chance to go to the Cape to watch the Apollo 11 launch but my parents did not take up the offer. I wish they did, I was 3 at the time and I would have loved to been there as history was being made.

  • wow, interesting story Nowhere, thanks for sharing that.

  • My uncle worked for NASA and that day of the first Saturn V launch, my grandfather died in Florida and until my father could get down there, my uncle had to take care of things by phone along with my aunt's help because he could not get away from his job during the Saturn V launch.

  • This is just great - despite the ludicrous animation and Jules "Always the Wrong Answer" Bergman :) Thanks for posting this. I think as a 10 year old I watched NBC because they were graceful enough to be quiet when the astronauts and controllers were talking.

"Got the shadow out there" - I'll never forget those words.
