Maria Clara and the Leper

Choreographed by the late National Artist for Creative Dance, Leonor Orosa Goquingco, this dance takes its story from a chapter in Noli Me Tangere.

Maria Clara comes from the church and she meets the Leper. She is frightened by this dirty man who corners her, but in the end she takes pity on him and offers her relikaryo as a token of friendship and a symbol of salvation.
