In the early 70's, the French racing driver Herve Poulain commissioned Alexander Calder to paint his BMW 3.0 CSL. It was the first of 15 automobiles that moved on to become works of Art: BMW Art Cars.
Since then some of the worlds most inventive artists have embellished BMW's with their personal visions. Our Art Car collection now encompasses works from the likes of Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein, David Hockney, and Jenny Holzer. Here you can watch all of them.
Hey, these look just like what my little cousin can draw.

hahaha, I would love to see that film. these cars must to have been fantastic to see racing. if you think about it back when Andy Warhol's M1 raced most cars where one color, this car just must have looked crazy out on the track. but I love the genus of BMW to recognize that cars are not just transportation. but at peace of art I wish more company's would do this.

Yes, artists do art, art is done by artists... unless you go to one of those cheezy art fairs where they have as many curly fries booths as they do booths selling old milk cans & saws with cute deer painted on them. There are some really brilliant art cars in the new film Automorphosis and in the book Art Cars.

The cars themselves are art as well as the people who pant them. I think this is something that is often over looked.

Re: the man's voice... Perhaps you can search for who did the voice-over, also known as narration. Good luck!
