Solidarity: Tristan and Palestine

On March 13th, 2009, Tristan Anderson, from Oakland, California, was shot in the head by Israeli forces during a protest against the Apartheid Wall in the Palestinian village of Ni'lin.

Tristan was shot at close range with a new type of high-velocity tear gas bullet that can reach 500 meters. It is silent, leaves no smoke trail, and has a propeller to accelerate the weapon mid-air.

Three days later, on March 16th, on the 6th anniversary of Israel's murder of Rachel Corrie with a bulldozer, friends and allies of Tristan gathered at the Israeli consulate in San Francisco.

Thank you for sharing me with this on my blog. It was awesome to hear him speaking on why he did this and how it felt too. I pray that he has a full recovery. People like him, with that strength, are rare and we need to keep them around. They wake us all up.
