Beautiful piece, but there's so much more that even young choirs like this one can do with it. Generally, the singers are competing with each other, and that creates problems with volume/balance and with unification of tone. The vowels across the board could be so much taller, deeper, less abrasive, and thus more unified.. and don't let the tempo get out of hand.. once that stuff is unified, the subtleties and real beauty of the piece will come out to the audience.

Generally, it's too slow for this group, but the director doesn't stick to that tempo - I say choose one and don't let it get out of hand. If it's too slow, it reveals some issues with tone/blend/etc. Great work for 2 rehearsals though!

I was just wondering if this isn't a bit slow? It seemed like they were singing the beginning in a very disconected way to me. I liked it though, just wondering what you thought.
