Detonator special is more splash damage. I like it a lot, the mines are like your buddies in this game when fending off necromorphs. I would recommend it if you are playing on zealot even if you have the hand cannon. That's what I used.

@TheSnyprBB That part pissed me off. Lol. I ran out of ammo before and spent my creds at the store buying a new gun prior to that part, so it was a bitch.

Tip. If you're on the same part as 0:28, seeker rifle is best.
