  • Get to the bloody bell ringing!

  • it works normally but is much harder to replace

  • Its not much different, Its just a different design.

  • These are Hasting Stays, I have them on my bells, there is also no slider but more like an elongated '~' shape running parallel to the wheel on the opposit side of the pit, and the metal part clamped to the top of the stay moves back and forth into the groves of the '~'

  • I've never heard of a Hastings Stay before, so have learn't something new. How does it work when compared to a normal stay? Great vids btw!

  • Its just occured to me that they were hasting stays about 10 minute ago I was just coming to correct myself hasting stays have no sliders and have a metal end with a bobble which runs down a track as the bell swings.

I should have realised this but everywhere ive rung just has regular stays so i'd forgot this.

  • It's called a Hastings Stay

  • actually all the stays have dodgy ends I think, maybe someone who was in the vid can clarify if they are a certain type of stay, theres a few different variants besides the normal flat ended ones but hard to tell clearly what type they are from the video.

  • LOL 2 are broke by looks of it

  • So who broke the stay on the bell thats rocking to and fro then?
