@tiburcioman - The flight engineer was making a required call that all three thrust reversers we fully deployed. The Thrust reverser lights turn green when the translating cowl is fully deployed. At that point, we can increase the reverse thrust up from idle reverse to full reverse.

i sat in the camera persons seat every time i flew in a dc 10. for me it was the best seat in the world. great video.

twin engine wide body jets do not look right, they need a third engine in a different place. Planes have lost both engines, but I have heard of three engines being disabled. Tri jets are awesome. DC 10 (MD11) is a great airplane. 777 needs a third engine so the wing engines can be smaller.

"As of September 2010, the 707 has been in a total of 167 hull-loss occurrences[28] with 2,739 fatalities"

And that is the worst hull loss rate from western jets.

Also 727:

"As of 2010, a total of 325 incidents involving 727s had occurred, including 110 hull-loss accidents resulting in a total of 3,704 fatalities."
